About the Nikah Ceremony
• The Nikah ceremony is a religious and legal contract that marks the beginning of a marriage according to Islamic law.
• It is performed by an imam and can be conducted in either English or Turkish to ensure all parties understand the process.
Important Information About Nikah Ceremonies at Suleymaniye Mosque
Ceremony Room (Shown in the picture) Capacity: The Nikah ceremony room accommodates a maximum of 15 people.
Please Note:
• Nikah ceremonies do not take place in the main prayer hall under any circumstances. The ceremony will only be held in the designated room shown in the picture.
• You are welcome to spend time with your family members and take photos after the ceremony in the designated room shown in the picture.
Men and Women Segregation (Optional)
If you prefer men and women to be segregated during the Nikah ceremony:
• Extra Visitors:
• Brothers: May stay in the main prayer hall.
• Sisters: May stay in the second-floor prayer room.
• The Nikah ceremony itself will still take place in the designated room shown in the picture.
Important Points About Prayer Halls
• There are no chairs in the main prayer hall or the second-floor women’s section.
• Prayer halls are strictly reserved for prayers only. Talking, disturbing worshippers, or any unrelated activities are not tolerated as the mosque remains open for daily prayers.
Frequently Asked Question
Can the Nikah ceremony take place in the main prayer hall?
Answer: Absolutely not.
If you want your Nikah to take place in a prayer hall, please do not book at Suleymaniye Mosque. We cannot accommodate such requests. In these cases, you will need to hire a wedding hall or alternative venue.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in respecting the sacred nature of the mosque.

Structure of the Day
1. Arrive 15 minutes early.
2. The ceremony lasts 40-60 minutes.
3. A Nikah certificate will be signed and issued on the day.
Dress Code
All attendees must adhere to an Islamic dress code that aligns with the values of the mosque.
Witnesses
Please attend with two witnesses to validate the ceremony.
Parking Information
• On-Site Parking: Not available.
• Use the RingGo app for nearby pay-and-display parking.
• Zone F Parking Hours:

Mon-Fri: 07:30–18:30 (free outside these hours).

Sat: 07:30–13:30 (free outside these hours).

Sun: Free all day.
• Disabled Badge Holders: Permitted to park in designated bays or single yellow lanes where allowed.
• Single Red Line: No parking between 07:00–19:00. Free outside these hours.
Fee
The £200 is fee is required when booking slot. You will get full refund if the appointment is cancelled. The fee is only for Nikah service, not the official marriage.
